This week in ELA:
For Word Study we will be learning about prefixes and suffixes, how adding them can change the meaning of the base word, and how understanding them can help us decode words. Shared Reading this week will be used to support our social studies theme of peace and equal rights. The Writing portion of ELA this week will also follow our social studies theme, as we will be writing individual peace pledges, as well as compositions about the importance of using peaceful means to bring about changes in our world.

This week we will be writing about personal experiences involving learning a lesson or accomplishing something great. We will also be reading about work, money, and economic systems, as well as natural resources that become everyday products. We will go over our high frequency words again and focus on the ones with which we need the most help.
