GEOLOGY ROCKS!
This week we will be exploring rocks, minerals, weathering and erosion. We will start off by investigating the physical traits of rocks and categorizing our samples accordingly. Using these descriptive words will help develop our growing vocabulary, and the word meanings are reinforced through art activities in which we sketch and illustrate the rock samples based on their categorical description.
Later in the week we will learn about mining, and to substantiate this understanding we will mine chocolate chips out of chocolate chip cookies! Our last lesson of the week teaches us how to make homemade soil using nature's recipe.
